Brent Gruno, USPTR — Following an outstanding high school career as the top player in the history of West Plains High School, Brent began his collegiate career at Jefferson College where he studied computer-aided drafting. Brent then continued his intercollegiate career at Central Missouri State University from which he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.

Brent’s post collegiate playing career includes top-ten SLDTA rankings, a 45-0 record on the West County Ladder, and World Team Tennis National Championship earned in 1999.  His diversified and extensive teaching career includes several years on professional staffs in Buffalo, New York; Warrensburg, Pennsylvania; and St. Louis, Missouri.

Paul Stuart—Paul has been a Math Teacher and Assistant Boys Tennis Coach at EHS since 2005.  After concluding a distinguished high school career as a varsity player, Paul played top-3 singles and doubles at Quincy University for three years.  He is also a former Varsity Coach at Quincy Notre Dame and McHenry High Schools.  Phone: 314.740.1196.

 

Michael Chamberlain—#1 All-Time Wins, Michael ended his outstanding career in the spring of 2007 as a three-time state qualifier including two sectional singles championships. Mark Sturley—Mark’s academic career at EHS includes a ranking in the Top Ten Percent and membership in the National Honor Society. Mark begins his career at Truman State University in the fall of 08 on a tennis scholarship and leaves behind a high school career that included over 100 wins, two trips to the state tournament and a Southwestern Conference Championship at #1 doubles. Jade StanlickAn EHS standout at tennis and basketball, Jade qualified for the state tournament in basketball twice and three times in tennis. She is an Alton Telegraph Player of the Year for the fall of 2004 and winner of the Post Dispatch Scholar Athlete Award. Jade is pursuing  basketball and tennis careers at Olivette Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where she played #2 singles this past year. She is also a Dean’s List scholar.
